What is volumetric weight?
Volumetric weight is the weight calculated based on the length, width and height of the parcel converted to volumetric kilograms. The formula used to calculate volumetric weight varies by courier and service used. For example, some couriers use different volume formulas for express and economy services.
Why is volumetric weight charged?
The bigger the item, the more space it needs in the car or plane, the more the shipping costs. If the item is large but light, the price will be based on the size, not the weight.
